Description: (click here for general notes about my descriptions)

The Río Humuya Gorge is a pretty stretch of river with a big variety of river features. It also collects a wide variety of trash from the wide and heavily populated Comayagua Valley. Once in the rocky gorges, however, your mind will be focused on those rapids.

A full description is in the Mayan Whitewater El Salvador, Honduras, & Nicaragua guidebook.

Descent History: I ran the Río Humuya solo in June 2005, with 1,300 cfs.
