Description: (click here for general notes about my descriptions)
The Río Grande del Agua Caliente is at its Grandest in the Lower section. It has varied geology including a limestone gorge and jungle scenery with lots of parrots. With its long length it would make for a nice 2-day rafting trip, though the lack of a gauge and nice camping spots is not helpful.
A full description is in the Mayan Whitewater El Salvador, Honduras, & Nicaragua guidebook.
Descent History: Tom van Rijs and I ran the Lower Río Agua Caliente in October 2018, with 2,200 cfs at the PI.
