These two tiny steep creeks east of La Ceiba are fun little missions that mostly only locals get on since it is so hard to catch the water.

A full description is in the Mayan Whitewater El Salvador, Honduras, & Nicaragua guidebook.

Descent History: Kayak legend Ken Whiting and Paul Harwood were filmed running the Río Cuyamel in 1996. The team of Udo Witteman (Omega Tours) and Kent Forte was likely the first on Sambo Creek. Flow Notes: These creeks are hard La Sirena waterfall to catch. Try `em the same day the (photo by Emilio Salaverri) Cangrejal is spiking.
