Description: (click here for general notes about my descriptions)

The mostly flat Río Comayagua (also commonly known as Río Humuya) is all that remains below two large dams, the upper El Cajón dam (tallest dam and largest reservoir in Honduras) and the lower La Vegona dam. The run will be of interest to those looking to float high through some green scenery at any time of year.

A full description is in the Mayan Whitewater El Salvador, Honduras, & Nicaragua guidebook.

Descent History: The Ríos Honduras guys ran the upper part in the 90s, before the building of the La Vegona dam.
