Description: (click here for general notes about my descriptions)

The Río Custepec is a small creek, out-of-the-way and notable for its lack of distinguishing features. It's worth a look if you're a class III boater and in the area when the rivers are up.

A full description is in the Mayan Whitewater: Chiapas & Belize guidebook.

Flow Notes: There are no online gauges for the Río Custepec, but the Jaltenango gauge (neighboring/parallel drainage) can give you a clue of the flow. My impressions are from a run with about 200/300 cfs at the PI/TO. Also here I include some (pre-dam) historical data from INEGI.
