The Santo Domingo branch of the Río Chocoljá is a wonderful advanced section of whitewater close to Palenque with numerous travertine drops.

Flow Notes: Expect runnable fl ows at least June–January and possibly other times after rains.

Nearby Tourist Attractions: the ruins at Piedras Negras, Bonampak, and Yaxchilán, down the Fronterizo del Sur highway.
